Remains of what may be Europe's biggest dinosaur were discovered in man's back garden in Portugal. Paleontologists discovered fragments of the dinosaur's spine and ribs, indicating that the massive reptile stood roughly 12 meters (39 feet) tall and was 25 meters (82 feet) long. Italy Announces State Of Emergency For Ongoing Drought, Heatwave
Italian government announced a state of emergency on July 4 in response to Italy's extended heatwave and drought conditions. State of emergency will be in effect until at least the end of the year and will provide the government with additional resources and authority to deal with the hot and dry weather. Most of Italy has been engulfed by record-breaking heat, with temperatures consistently above 40 degrees Celsius.

6 Dead, Numerous Missing In Glacier Collapse Due To High Temperatures In Italy
A glacial ice shelf broke in northern Italy on July 3 amid warmer-than-normal temperatures, leaving at least six people dead and more than a handful missing. Additionally, there were at least eight injuries, one of which was severe. Authorities warned that the area was at risk for more landslides. In order to find the missing, injured, and dead, rescuers used cutting-edge global positioning systems, hound dog teams, and helicopters.

Monkeypox: WHO Calls For 'Urgent Action', Says 'Cases Tripled In 2 Weeks'
WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Henri Kluge called for an "urgent action" against the Monkeypox outbreak, stating that cases have tripled in over past two weeks. He urged the governments to "scale up efforts to prevent Monkeypox from establishing itself". Reportedly, 31 countries have detected the Monkeypox virus so far. Meanwhile, Europe remains at the centre, sharing the highest risk.

President Putin To Depend More On China & India As EU Could Ban Russian Oil
As European Union considers banning Russian energy, President Vladimir Putin might have to rely more on China and India. EU leaders decided to seek a partial embargo on Russian crude oil shipments by sea, which could cost Putin up to $10 billion in lost export earnings per year. Belgium, The First Country To Impose A Mandatory 21-Day Monkeypox Quarantine
Belgium is the first European country to impose a 21-day quarantine for monkeypox patients. This follows the discovery of the first monkeypox case in Switzerland on May 21. Currently, 14 countries, including four in Belgium, have reported recurrent outbreaks of the virus. All of the incidents were traced back to a festival in Antwerp, Belgium's port city.
