Bihar IAS Officer Uses Filthy Language In Official Meeting, Video Goes Viral
Bihar excise principal secretary KK Pathak was caught on camera hurling abuses in an official meeting as he was livid over people of the city not following traffic rules. The video went viral on social media, gaining criticism from netizens. Bihar excise minister Sunil Kumar said he has heard about the video and will be taking the necessary action against the IAS KK Pathak soon.

Maharashtra Excise Department Issues Notice To Sameer Wankhede Over Bar License
On December 13, the Thane unit of the Maharashtra Excise Department has issued a notice to NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede regarding his bar & restaurant. Allegations are that Wankhede was not eligible for a bar & restaurant license, which was given in 1997. He was 17 years old at the time, far below the eligible age of 21. As per the notice, Wankhede has to reply within a week.

Delhi HC Issues Notice To Excise Department Over Liquor Shop License
On December 13, a division bench of Delhi HC issued notice to the excise department over liquor license approval. The notice was in regard to a petition filed against approval of liquor shop in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. Notably, the liquor shop had been approved in a residential area with several necessary commodities' shop, creating panic amongst people. The Delhi HC directed the department to file a reply by January 28.

Delhi Govt Orders Deployment Of Marshals At Liquor Stores
Delhi's Excise Department has ordered the four state-run liquor sellers and private bodies to deploy marshals and staff to ensure COVID-appropriate behaviour at shops. The order aims primarily to ensure social distancing among customers, use of masks and sanitizers along with prohibiting consumption of gutka, pan and liqour at shops. Meanwhile, liquor shops in Delhi are currently operating on an odd-even basis from 10am to 8pm.

Kerala: Boys Group Plant Marijuana To Mark World Environment Day
A group of youths planted Cannabis saplings to mark the World Environment Day on the side of a road in Kollam, Kerala. Reportedly, the plantation and posing with plants was noticed by a neighbour who informed the relevant authorities. The episode gained notoriety as police and excise authorities launched an investigation to discover the mischiefs behind the scheme, and a video showing them taking the plant went viral.

UP Excise Deptt Eyes To Reduce Limit Of Liquor Storage At Home

Drugs Worth Rs 2.5 Billion Seized In Sri Lanka; Pakistan's ISI Suspected
Seizing drugs worth Rs 2.5 billion, Sri Lanka's Excise Department has arrested four people who were carrying the seized contraband from the Chinese-controlled Gwadar port of Pakistan.
