AIMTC Shows Support To Farmers' Protest; Calls Strike On December 8

The All-India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) has announced a strike on December 8 to support the protesting farmers. The goods' vehicles body has also threatened to "call for a Chakka Jam all across India" if the government does not agree with the farmers' demands. AIMTC president Kultaran Singh Atwal stated that the strike would be conducted across North India including Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab among others.

Farmers' Protest Intensifies, Chokes Main Route Connecting UP, Delhi

As farmers from Uttar Pradesh continue their agitation on December 2 at the Noida-Delhi border, the key route to connect UP and Delhi is closed. The travelers are asked to use alternatives like the DND or Kalindi Kunj route instead of the Chilla route. At the Noida-Delhi border, the farmers, belonging to Bharatiya Kisan Union, are being prevented from joining protestors in Delhi.

Study Reveals Only 67% Farmers Informed About Farm Bills

A Gaon Connection's survey has revealed that only 67% of the participants (all farmers) had knowledge about the new 'farm bills'. The survey named "The Indian Farmer’s Perception of the New Agri Laws", revealed out of the 52% of farmers who oppose the laws, 64% knew the details of the bill and out of 35% supporting the laws, 82% were informed. The survey was conducted across 16 states, including 5,022 participants.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal joined protests organized by AAP of Punjab Unit at Jantar Mantar against the new farm laws. Protesters demanded new laws supporting Maximum Selling Price (MSP). Congress says they will scrap the New Farmers Bill, When Retrieves Power

Punjab: SAD Leaders Stopped From Protesting Against Farm Laws

Shiromani Akali Dal leaders - Sukhbir Singh Badal and Harsimrat Kaur Badal - were stopped at the Chandigarh border for protesting against the new farm laws. Reportedly, they were leading the protestors to the Governor's residence to meet him and hand him a memorandum. Harsimrat stated that the Centre has forsaken the state of Punjab and its farmers. She also said that she will lead the protest to Delhi.
