Rahul Gandhi Slams Govt For Denying Data Of Deceased Farmers

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on December 3, in a press meet confirmed the data of deceased farmers, who protested the "Three Farm Laws". He said, "We have 403 people who Govt of Punjab has compensated Rs 5 lakh each & has given jobs to 152." The INC also claimed that third list is available publically with details of deceased farmers. Government denied to have any data of farmers, said Gandhi.

Akhilesh Yadav Visits Family Of Victim In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: UP

Akhilesh Yadav, former CM of Uttar Pradesh paid a visit to the family of a farmer (Daljit Singh) who was killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Yadav demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Mishra Teni. "Untill the resignation is done, justice will not be given to these victims' families," he stated. He further stated that since Supreme Court has taken cognizance, justice will be delivered.

Journalist Raman Kashyap 1 Out Of 8 Killed In Lakhimpur Kheri

Raman Kashyap, son of Ram-Dulare-Kashyap, was killed in the violence that occurred at Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. He spent the evening making desperate calls to find his son after discovering that a vehicle had driven over many people and bullets had been fired at the scene of a farmers' protest in Tikoniya that Raman was reporting. Police then informed Ram that his body had been transported to a morgue.

Demanding to clear the sugarcane dues and increase the crop price, farmers in Punjab have staged a protest blocking the highway and railway track in Punjab's Jalandhar on August 21. Haryana Police and protesting farmers have reached an impasse with hundreds moving into the Sadar Police Station and even erected tents on the premises. Interestingly, one farmer brought his cow to the protest claiming that there was no one available to look after her.
