Raman Kashyap, son of Ram-Dulare-Kashyap, was killed in the violence that occurred at Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. He spent the evening making desperate calls to find his son after discovering that a vehicle had driven over many people and bullets had been fired at the scene of a farmers' protest in Tikoniya that Raman was reporting. Police then informed Ram that his body had been transported to a morgue.

Haryana Police and protesting farmers have reached an impasse with hundreds moving into the Sadar Police Station and even erected tents on the premises. Interestingly, one farmer brought his cow to the protest claiming that there was no one available to look after her. The protesters were demanding the release of two associates who were arrested during a protest in front of an MLA's house on June 1.
