Elderly Woman Succumbs To Rabies Infection Despite Being Vaccinated: Kerala
In Kerala’s Kozhikode, a 53-year-old woman has succumbed to suspected Rabies infection, informed sources on August 22. The deceased identified as P Chandrika, was intact vaccinated against Rabies infection. Reportedly, she was bitten by a dog on her face, on July 21. It was revealed that the dog had also bitten seven others in the same locality. Her final test reports are yet to be revealed.

Kerala Assembly Sessions Begin; Bills To Replace ‘Ordinance Raj’ On Agenda
Kerala assembly sessions are scheduled to being on August 22, and the sessions will be carried out for 10 days. Also, bills to replace 11 ordinances which are lapsed, will be discussed as per the agenda of the state government. Kerala HC Permits Pregnancy Abortion At 28 Weeks For Minor Rape Victim
Kerala High Court granted medical termination of a juvenile rape victim's 28-week pregnancy. The "anguish caused by continuation of the pregnancy can be presumed to cause a grave injury to the mental health of the 14-year-old girl," said a medical board. HC also stated if the fetus survived the surgery, the hospital must provide the infant with the finest medical care possible so that it grows into a healthy kid.

827 Kg Cake Made To Celebrate Birth Anniversary Of Saint Antony: Kerala
A church in Kerala has made a cake of 827 kg to celebrate the birth anniversary of Saint Antony. The cake had a length of 110 feet and a width of six feet. Kerala court has granted bail to an accused in a sexual harassment case on the grounds that the victim was wearing “provocative dress”. Writer Civic Chandran (74) has been granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court in Kerala’s Kozhikode in a sexual harassment case. The court contended that the charges against the accused will prima facie not stand if the complainant was wearing a provocative dress.

CPI(M) Member Hacked To Death In Suspected Political Rivalry: Kerala
Shajahan, a CPI(M) local committee member has been hacked to death in Kerala's Palakkad, on April 14. According to the police, Shajahan was attacked by five-eight people. The police further stated that "we suspect that this too is a part of political rivalry". The incident occurred near Shajahan's residence in Palakkad's Marutharode, at around 9:15 pm.
