Designer Prabal Gurung showed his love for his homeland Nepal featuring dip-dyed prints and textiles from Nepal with a New York sensibility. It showed plunging silky tops with form-fitting mid-length dresses with thigh-high boots. "It's a New York love song to Nepal. It’s a celebration of women here and there," Gurung said before the show. Gurung's latest collections were showcased on February 16, at Spring Studios in downtown Manhattan. 

Union Government approved to sign MoU between India-Nepal, to construct bridge over Mahakali river. On January 6, the Cabinet chaired by PM Modi took the decision, helping people of Uttrakhand (Dharchula) and Nepal territory, sharing the region. Union Minister Anurag Thakur briefed the media about the meeting and said, the MoU will be helpful for people and enhance the relations between Nepal and India. 

Yoga guru Ramdev launched two television channels, Aastha Nepal TV and Patanjali Nepal TV in Nepal on November 19. Ramdev arrived in Kathmandu with his associate Acharya Bal Krishna on November 18 on the three-day visit. Patanjali Sewa Sadan and Swadeshi Samridhi card were also inaugurated at the event. Thousands are stranded as heavy monsoon rains have destroyed homes, crops, and other infrastructure in India as well as Nepal. Uttrakhand region has been badly hit with approximately 48 deaths, and 42 in Kerala, whereas, in the neighbouring country Nepal, an average of 77 people have lost their lives, as of October 21. Reportedly, the government is trying hard to find people and save those who are stranded.

As per reports, Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has become Nepal's Prime Minister for the fifth time on July 13. President Bidya Devi appointed him under Article 76(5) of the Constitution. Deuba needs to obtain a majority in the vote of confidence from the house, within 30 days. The 74-year-old politician had previously been the PM in intervals during 1995 to 2018.
