In Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya, a shocking incident took place where a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unidentified person near the Ayodhya Kotwali police station, on March 16. "The accused's identity is still unknown... Soon we will book the culprit", said Shailesh Pandey, SSP. The victim has reportedly been admitted to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Further investigation is underway.

Uttar Pradesh police arrested two people on January 27, for allegedly beating a journalist to death in Saharanpur area. Police said, the journalist was on a motorbike and overtook the car, in which three persons were seated. They said that enraged by overtaking, the three men allegedly thrashed the journalist, due to which he was seriously injured, and died later. Police further stated that a legal action is being ensured.

BJP candidate from Asmoli assembly seat in Uttar Pardesh has been booked for violation of model code of conduct and Covid-19 guidelines, on January 21. The BJP candidate and MLA of Asmoli assembly constituency Harendra Singh Rinku was holding an election meeting, which was attended by a large number of people, without masks and social distancing. Police took note and registered a case against the said MLA, and other persons. 

In a viral video, a UP police admitted taking bribe. During 'police ki pathshala' programme, Unnao, police interacted with students and said, "If the police takes the money, gets the job done". Trending on Twitter, the video gained different reactions from netizens. Meanwhile, the Unnao Police posted a tweet which read, District Magistrate Bhigapur was directed to investigate the entire matter ans send the report".
