PM Deuba Again Wins Party President Post: Nepal

Sher Bahadur Deuba, the incumbent PM of Nepal, won the president post of his party Nepali Congress (NC) for the second consecutive term. The 75-year-old Deuba defeated Dr. Shekhar Koirala by 1855 votes in the second round of voting to secure his victory in the election, reported ANI. Earlier, he faced four other candidates in the first round. Reportedly, Deuba first became the President of the NC in 2016.

PM Modi Gifts Artistic Agate Bowls To Russian President Putin

Following the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the 21st annual summit, PM Narendra Modi gifted him the Khambhat (Central Gujarat) made Agate Bowls on December 6. Agate is a hard semi-precious stone which is used as a gemstone in ornaments, reported ANI. Besides, India and Russia signed 28 MoUs and Agreements and agreements including that on a programme of the Military-Technical Cooperation from 2021-2031.

President Kovind, PM Modi Pay Tribute To Dr BR Ambedkar On 65th Death Anniversary

On the 65th death anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar, which is observed as "Mahaparinirvan Diwas", President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Narendra Modi paid floral tribute on December 6. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders also paid tribute at the statue in Parliament premises. He was the architect of the constitution and died on December 6, 1956.

CM K Chandrashekar Rao Again Elected As TRS' President: Telangana

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) founder and Telangana's CM K Chandrashekar Rao has again been elected as the Party's president on October 25. Reportedly, more than 60 lakh party members unanimously backed Rao to head the party. The TRS was formed by Rao in 2001 when he left TDP with an aim to make Telangana state from undivided Andhra Pradesh. Besides, the celebration will also be held on November 15.

Nepal: Sher Bahadur Deuba To Be Prime Minister For The Fifth Time In 25 Yrs

As per reports, Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has become Nepal's Prime Minister for the fifth time on July 13. President Bidya Devi appointed him under Article 76(5) of the Constitution. Deuba needs to obtain a majority in the vote of confidence from the house, within 30 days. The 74-year-old politician had previously been the PM in intervals during 1995 to 2018.

New Tibetan Prez Says, Open To Reaching Out To China To Solve Dispute

Penpa Tsering took oath as the President of the government-in-exile of Tibet on May 27 in Dharmsala. After sworn as Sikyong, Penpa said that he will reach out to the Chinese government for a mutually beneficial agreement on the long-standing dispute. Penpa added that China’s May 21 issued white paper had nothing new on Tibet. Notably, rejecting the Tibetan government-in-exile, China has not engaged in Sino-Tibet dialogues since 2010.

Mali's Military Detains Prez, PM, Defence Minister Of Interim Govt

The military in Mali on May 24 detained the President, PM and Defence Minister of the interim government. Reportedly, the action came after government removed to military leaders in reshuffling. While the UN, African Union and ECOWAS urged for the immediate and unconditional release of the leaders, a military official from Kati said 'What they (the detained leaders) have done is not good' and the decision will be made soon.
