Srirangapatna Chalo Rally: Section 144 Of CrPC Imposed In Karnataka's Mandya, 500 Policemen Deployed

In Karnataka's Mandya, Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in wake of the 'Srirangapatna Chalo' call given by Vishnu Hindu Parishad (VHP). The rule has been imposed for 12 hours (6:00 am to 6:00 pm), 500 police personnel have been deployed and weekly markets and liquor sale have been banned in the five-kilometre radius. Furthermore, CCTV cameras have been installed and masjid road has been closed.

Police Deployed At Malali Juma Masjid, Section 144 Imposed: Mangalore

In Karnataka's Mangaluru, a large number of police personnel have been deployed at Malali Juma masjid, to prevent any untoward incident from happening, on May 25. The move has come after right-wing organisations performed 'Tambula Prashne' at Sri Ramanjaneya Bhajana Mandira in Malali. Reportedly, section 144 has been imposed within 500 metres of the masjid till 8am, on May 26.

Administration Seals Church Gate After Complaints Of Religious Conversion: Odisha

In Odisha's Bhadrak, Section 144 has been imposed by the district administration after receiving complaints alleging a church to be involved in conversion of innocent tribals to Christianity. With this, not more than three persons are allowed to gather within the vicinity of the church, and the church gate is sealed. Sub collector of Bhadrak Manoj Patra said, "we found out that there is some breach of peace between communities".

Communal Tensions Erupt In MP's Neemuch; Stones Pelted, Section 144 Imposed

In Madhya Pradesh's Neemuch district, communal tensions erupted after a group of people installed a Hanuman idol at a Darga in Purani Kachahari area, on May 16. Stones were pelted and a mosque was set ablaze during the clash. Reportedly, police used tear gas to disperse the largely gathered crowd in the area. Furthermore Section 144 has been imposed and residents of the area have been requested to stay indoors.

Section 144 Imposed Ahead Of Demolition Drive: Chandigarh

Under the orders of UT district magistrate, Chandigarh administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC in the area, due to the ongoing demolition drive. The order has come after the apprehension that the people in the area may cause obstruction to the demolition drive. According to the order, Section 144 has been imposed in "Colony 4, Industrial Area, Phase 1, Chandigarh and within 500 meters from it periphery".

46 Arrested For Questioning In Karauali Religious Violence: Rajasthan

In Karauli's religious violence, as many as 46 people have been arrested for questioning and approximately 7 people have been detained. On April 3, during a religious procession "Shobha-Yatra" in Futa Kot area, main Bazar, a stone-pelting incident was reported. Due to the clash, the police imposed Section 144 of the CrPC, restricting the gathering of people. Furthermore, IG Prasanna Kumar Khmesra is investigating the matter.

Section 144 Imposed In Telangana's Nizamabad District

The Telangana police has imposed section 144 of the CrPC, amid tension in Nizamabad's Bodhan town, on March 20. According to sources, a group of people gathered on the road and started pelting stone, to protest against the installation of Shivaji statue, saying it has hurt their sentiments. To avoid further violence, Nizamabad CP KR Nagaraju imposed section 144 and filed a case against accused.

Section 144 Imposed In Areas Around All High Schools In Udupi

The administration imposed Section 144 of CrPC in areas around all high schools in Udupi from February 14 till 19. As per reports, All sorts of gatherings including protests and rallies are banned, also, Inciting slogans and speeches are strictly barred. The order is applied within a 200-metre radius of high schools. Notably, the decision was taken by the state government in view of the hijab-saffron shawl controversy.
