DC Registers Win Over KKR; Shaw Smashes Fastest Fifty Of IPL 2021

Answering questions about his temperament by various cricketing pundits, Prithvi Shaw smashed spectacular 82 runs off 41 balls, leading Delhi Capitals (DC) to a comfortable 7-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 29. Winning the toss on the slow pitch, DC played their cards right by electing to bowl first. KKR's batting lineup struggled as they faced difficulty in getting into T-20 mode, thanks to falling of wickets at regular intervals. However, Shubman Gill, scoring 43 off 38 balls, and Andre Russel's power-packed 45* off 27 helped KKR to set a target of 155 runs. While chasing, DC's inning start off on a dream note when Shaw belted six fours in the very first over. Later, the game-sealing performances from openers Shaw and Shikhar (46 runs) left KKR with a little, if no, hope. Interestingly, Shaw went on to make fastest fifty of the season i.e. 50 runs off just 18 balls. With this victory, Capitals are now standing second in the points table.
