2nd Day Jallikattu Competition Underway In Tamil Nadu's Palamedu Area

Amid rising cases of Covid-19, the Jallikattu competition began in the Palamedu area of Madurai district in Tamil Nadu on January 15. Hundreds of people gathered on the second day of the bull-taming sport, Jallikattu. Earlier on January 14, health officials informed that 80 injuries were reported. The Tamil Nadu government had allowed 300 bulls and 150 spectators for the competition. The Jallikattu competition is conducted at the Pongal festival.
