ITDC To Serve Parliamentarians Now, Takes Charge From Northern Railways
India Tourism Development Corporation, a state-owned company, has now been assigned to run the Parliament canteen from November 15. ITDC, which also runs 5-star Ashoka Hotels, will replace the Northern Railways that was serving parliamentarians since 1968. In a self-driven initiative, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also eyes to end food subsidies to help Parliament save Rs 17 crores annually. Reportedly, Parliament canteen serves around 5,000 people during every session.
