NCC Chief States Current Rules Disallow Inclusion Of Transgenders
National Cadet Corps (NCC) head DG Lieutenant General Tarun Kumar Aich on January 8 stated that present clauses governed by the NCC Act of 1948 do not warrant the inclusion of transgenders. The NCC chief said the uniformed youth organisation would need "numbers" and other "dynamics" to incorporate the third gender. Meanwhile, Kerala High court heard a plea requesting the admission of transgenders in the NCC the same day.
