Nobel Prize In Medicine 2023: Katalin Karikó & Drew Weissman Wins For Role In COVID-19

The Nobel Prize 2023 in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. The top honour was given by the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institute on October 2 as the prestigious ceremony kicks in. The discoveries by the two Nobel Laureates were critical “for developing effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
