Non-Slums, High-Rise Buildings In Mumbai Contribute 90% COVID Cases
A recent study by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has suggested that high-rise buildings and non-slum areas contribute to over 90% of the COVID cases in Mumbai. Reportedly, of the total 87,443 active COVID-19 cases (as of April 16) in the city, 79,032 cases have been reported from high-rise buildings while slums logged only 8,411 cases. Interestingly, Mumbai's slums were the worst-hit during the first wave of the pandemic.
