World Celebrates International Tiger Day; India Now Has 3,000 Wild Cats
To raise awareness about the big wild cats, Global Tiger Day is celebrated on July 29 every year. Reportedly, the "total population of tigers around the world is known to be at 3,900". India alone has around 3,000 wild tigers. However, due to illegal wildlife trade and poaching the ratio of tigers dropped 95% in the last 150 years but it is on the rise since 2018.
