IMD Predicts Extremely Heavy Rainfall In These Places; Check Here
Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh is likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall in the next few days, reported IMD, on July 11. According to IMD forecast, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Telangana between July 10 and 12, between July 10 and 14 in Maharashtra and Gujarat, between July 13 and 14 in Saurashtra and Kutch. Meanwhile, the rains are expected between July 11 and 14 in Goa.

Goa's Flood Monitoring System Falls Victim To Ransomware Attack; Hackers Demand Crypto Payment
Goa's flood monitoring system has fallen victim to ransomware attack. The attackers reportedly demanded to be paid in Crypto currency for the data to be released. According to a complaint filed in cyber cell, the department claimed that all its filed have were encrypted and hence could not be accessed. As a result of hacking, the department has no access to data related to battery voltages, data packets and more.

Rebel Shiv Sena MLAs Will Fly To Goa From Guwahati: Maharashtra Political Crisis
The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs are scheduled to fly to Goa, from Guwahati, Assam, on June 29. In regard to this, 70 rooms have been booked at Taj Convention Hotel, for the MLAs, who will reach Goa by 4:30 pm. The MLAs who are campaigning against the Maha-Vikas Aghadi (MVA) Government will be going to Mumbai on June 30, for the floor test, to prove CM Uddhav Thackeray-government's majority.

'Virtual Classrooms' To Be Established Across State: Goa Chief Minister
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on June 17 announced that the state is planning to implement "virtual classrooms" in all schools, allowing a single competent teacher to instruct pupils across the state. Goa Man Poses As Tantrik To Rape Minor, Arrested
In Goa, a 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl, confirmed police on June 1. The accused posed as a "Tantrik" to allegedly rape the 14-year-old minor. He took the girl at his residence under the pretext of getting all her wishes in life fulfilled. Based on the complaint of victim's father, the police registered a case and arrested the accused, and victim's mother.

Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship Starts In Goa

Maharashtra Needs Separate Law University, Says SC Justice S Oka
Supreme Court's Justice Abhay S Oka demanded a separate law university in Maharashtra. On April 14, Oka addressed a conference organised by the Bar Council of Maharashtra, Goa and Thane District Courts Bar Association, and emphasized the need for Maharashtra Law university. He said, financial constraints should not come in the way of the development and should not be an issue to deprive citizens' fundamental rights.

24 Tests Positive In BITS Pilani Amid 4th Wave Threat: Goa
In BITS PILANI Goa, 24 students were tested positive for Covid-19 over the last few days after the classes resumed offline. In addition, Health authorities are present on the campus, also primary and secondary contacts are being tested. ''We had already decided to continue our classes online and cancel events and gatherings which were scheduled to be held here," stated an official. With this, Goa is witnessing fourth-wave Covid-19 threat.

Person Injured In BJP-Congress Clash, Complaint Filed
In South Goa, a person identified as Pradeep Mayekar, father of a BJP worker, was seriously injured amid BJP-Congress clash, after election results on Holi. On March 19, police registered cross complaints and deployed police for law & order. Notably, Goa CM Pramod Sawant visited Chicalim Hospital to see the patient and uploaded pictures on Facebook. "I have asked the police to take strict action against the culprits," said Sawant.
