Illegal Arms Factory Busted In Jharkhand; 6 Arrested, Weapons Seized

Kolkata police and Jharkhand police in a joint operation, raided an illegal arms factory in Sarua village, situated at Jharkhand's Dumka district. Six including a woman were arrested in the raid, on April 2. Also, a large number of 'unfinished guns' were seized in the raid, reported PTI. Reportedly, the guns are then sent to Munger in Bihar, for assembly. Further details are awaited.

National Commission For Minorities Urges Due Clearance For Madrasa Teachers

In order to clear Madrasa Teacher's dues, the National Minorities Commission (NMC) urged the Central Government to pay the pending funds. Syed Shahzadi, the Officiating Chairperson of NCM said, "In these states (Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar), it came to light that the Madrasa teachers were deprived of their salaries for four years". Notably, in 2018 the NCM sent a letter to the Union Ministry of Education, regarding the release.

Pregnant Women Travels For Delivery Due To Lack Of Roads

As per reports, a pregnant woman from Jharkhand had to go all the way to Chhattisgarh because she couldn't access healthcare facilities in her village. "We called up Jharkhand's helpline number for a pregnant woman but we were told that they won't be able to help us in the absence of the road,'' stated a local resident. Notably, the Deputy Commissioner of Gumla district is looking into the matter.

Jharkhand Govt Unveils Rs 1.01 Lakh Crore Budget For Fiscal Year 2022-23

Jharkhand government on March 3, unveiled a budget of Rs 1.01 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2022-23. The new budget focuses on enhances health and infrastructure. The new proposal projected a massive jump of 59% in the captial expenditure, to Rs 24,827.70 crore. 100% Utilisation Of Its Solid Waste, Claims Bokaro Steel Officials

Bokaro Steel (BSL) plant has saved Rs 700 crore by achieving 100% utilisation of its solid wastes in the ongoing financial year. In addition, BSL has achieved a 30.95% reduction in particulate matter emissions and a 19.85% reduction in waste discharge during the last three financial years. Moreover, BSL had won the Greentech Environmental Excellence Award 2020. Notably, BSL was the only subsidiary of SAIL to achieve this milestone.

Man Brutally Killed By Son Over Property Dispute: Jamshedpur

In Jharkhand's Jamshedpur, a 65-year-old man was brutally murdered by his 40-year-old son over a property dispute. Reportedly, the father refused to give a share of his paddy field to his son. The incident happened in East Singhbhum's Duaridih village, after a heated argument between the duo. Patamda Police filed a case against the accused and nabbed him from his relative's house. An investigation regarding the same is underway.

Bhojpuri, Maghi Dropped From List Of Regional Languages In Bokaro & Dhanbad Districts

Jharkhand government removed Bhojpuri and Magahi from the list of regional languages of Dhanbad and Bokaro districts amid ongoing protests. In addition, the state department of administrative reforms and Rajbhasha nullified its previous notification of December 24, 2021, that permitted these two languages for appearing in recruitment examinations held by the state staff selection commission.
