Rajya Sabha Adjourned Sine Die Amid Opposition's Ruckus

The Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned sine die, ahead of the scheduled end of the Union Budget Session 2022-2023.  As per PTI, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu could not even read out his customary closing remarks amid ruckus by Shiv Sena leaders and opposition MPs in the parliament. Due to the chaos in the session, the RS Chairman adjourned sine die.

Kashmiri Migrants To Get Back Their Assets, Says Govt In Rajya Sabha

Addressing the Rajya Sabha in the Parliament proceedings, Union Ministry of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said, "the Modi government and Home Minister is capable of returning the assets to migrant Kashmiris." On April 6, the BJP leader informed that so far 610 people have got their assets and if the complaint is genuine, more migrants will get their assets back. He further said, Jammu & Kashmir is developing.

Fuel Rates Skyrockets With 13th Revision In Metro Cities

Amid opposition's protest, the fuel rates in Indian metro cities are rising everyday, taking the overall pricing up by Rs 9.20, on April 5. With another hike in prices, the rates are now Rs 104.61 petrol in Delhi and Rs 119.67 in Mumbai. Whereas, diesel costs Rs 95.87 and Rs 103.92 in Delhi & Mumbai, respectively. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MPs demanded discussion over the fuel hike and staged a protest.

Rajya Sabha Bids Farewell To 72 Members; Chairman Venkaiah Naidu Organises Dinner

The retirement of two third of the members of Rajya Sabha this year, turned out to be one-of-a-kind. The upper house whose two third of the members retire once in two years, witnessed the retirement of 72 members, and a record attendance of 203 members, on March 31. About six sitting members of the house have volunteered to offer vocal and musical performances during dinner organised by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu.

High Level Probe Initiated In Accidental Missile Launch: Rajnath Singh

Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke on the accidental launch of a missile into Pakistan at the Rajya Sabha on March 15.  The Government of India, launched a high-level probe and said, "I would like to inform the House that the government has taken serious note of the incident". Notably, due to technical malfunction, the missile was launched on March 9 and landed in Islamabad but no damage was reported.
