A woman sub-inspector, in the Bhilwara district, has registered complaints against a former BJP leader and others of gang-raping her. The Mumbai Government Railway Police (GRP) on October 9 said they arrested four robbers who allegedly raped a 20-year-old woman and looted property worth Rs 96,390 from passengers on the Lucknow-Mumbai Pushpak Express train between Igatpuri and Kasara. Reportedly, the incident happened on October 8 on the moving train. The GRP filed charges against the accused under IPC sections 395, 397, 376(D), 354, and 354(B) and Railways Act.

In a shocking incident, Pune Police has arrested 11 people so far including six autorickshaw drivers, two railway employees, and three others, for gang-raping a 13-year-old girl on August 31. Reportedly, an accused, autorickshaw driver who offered the service to drop the girl home had called others to rape the minor. However, the victim was taken to the hospital and is said to be stable.

Taking a suo moto cognisance, Maharashtra's Palghar police arrested three men who allegedly gang-raped a 17-year-old orphan girl between November 2020 and August 2021. A 65-year-old woman was raped by five men, including four minors on the night of August 14 in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli. The incident occurred at a railway crossing under the Jayant police outpost. The victim was returning from her sister's house was allegedly gang-raped. All the five accused have been arrested and were under influence of some intoxicant when the crime was committed, the police revealed.
