TRS Team Visits Delhi To Submit BRS Resolution Copy to ECI
After Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao announced TRS as a national party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, the party leaders went to Delhi to present the BRS resolution to the Central Election Commission. The team included Vice President of Planning Commission Boinapally Vinod Kumar and Party General Secretary MLC Srinivas Reddy handed over the copy to Central Election Commission Deputy Commissioner Dharmendra Sharma.

SC Directs EC To Hold Decision Over Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena Symbol Plea
The Supreme Court, which reviewed the plea of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, over symbol battle, asked the Election Commission not to take any decision for now on the Eknath Shinde faction's plea. The bench led by CJI NV Ramana directed the EC to hold the decision regarding the symbol grant on Shinde's plea until next hearing. The bench would take a call regarding the Maharashtra political crisis on August 8.

SC Lashes Out At Election Commission To Re-Notifying Local Bodies Polls, Says Can't Do That

Haryana Civil Polls Underway, 12.60 Lakh Voters Eligible
Haryana Municipal committees and municipal council elections for 28 and 18 seats respectively are underway on June 19. Scheduled between 7am-6pm, the polling will be held in 1,290 (municipal councils) and 671 stations (municipalities). Tripura Violence: 6 MP Delegation Visits Election Commission To Submit Deputation
A six MP delegation of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party visited the Election Commission of India to submit a deputation in connection to the case of violence in Tripura. It was alleged that the violence erupted due to "BJP-sponsored goons". Reportedly, two AITC workers were allegedly beaten up in the Surma assembly constituency ahead of the bypolls. Furthermore, it is alleged that the police were restricted from reaching the spot.

Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar's Election Challenged In HC: Uttarakhand
A suit has been filed in the Uttarakhand High Court challenging the election of Umesh Kumar, who has been elected as an independent MLA from Khanpur. The petition alleged that out of 29 pending cases against Umesh Kumar, only 16 have been furnished in the affidavit before the election authorities, concealing the important ones. Odisha Govt Announces 'Dry Day' For 5 Days In View Of Urban Polls
The Odisha government announced "dry day" for five days, starting from March 22, in view of urban polls. The announcement has come following the instruction of State Election Commission. As per the order, in the said days, liquor will not be sold or distributed after 5 pm in the polling areas. Congress Protests, Alleges EVMs Tampering After It Trails In 5 Poll Bound States
Alleging tampering with the Electronic Voting Machines Congress workers carried out protest outside the party office in Delhi. "In Goa, Congress is leading on 16-17 seats, it'll be the single largest party and we'll seek support in case numbers aren't enough," Congress leader Satej Patel said. In the early trends, AAP is leading in Punjab and in other states, BJP is leading in Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Uttarakhand.
