Supreme Court Rejects Petition To Accept Private Tour Operators For Hajj In 2022
Supreme Court (SC) denied Al Islam Tour Corporations' request to be included as private tour operators for the Hajj in 2022 on May 23. The petitioner attempted to withdraw his plea and petitioned the relevant High Court. SC gave the petitioner the right to seek any alternative legal action. SC stated that previous petitions had been denied and that the petitioners should have arrived one month earlier.

Supreme Court Stays Suit Proceedings Challenging IT Rules Before High Courts
Supreme Court has stayed all the suits pending before High Courts across the country challenging the IT rules, on May 9. Petitions challenging Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethnics Code) Rules and the Cable TV Network (Amendment) Rules will be on hold till May 19. However, the interim orders passed in petitions challenging the said rules will not be affected.

CJI Ramana To Chair 39th Conference Of Chief Justices
The Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana, is set to chair the 39th conference of the Chief Justices of High Courts across the country on 29th April. The conference is being organised on the premises of the apex court. This event is being held after six years. CJI NV Ramana is expected to evaluate the justice delivery system in India, and announce certain measures for improvement.

Delhi HC Orders Release Of Man From FRRO Custody
The Delhi High Court has ordered the release of a man from the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) custody, taking into consideration his identity documents. Chennai Students Protest Over Karnataka Hijab Row After Verdict
Students in Chennai protested against the Karnataka HC dismissing petitions for a ban on hijab in educational institutions. Visually Impaired Advocate Protest, Demands Disability Law In J&K
A visually impaired advocate from Jammu & Kashmir has been protesting, demanding to implement disability laws in UT. Advocate Suraj Singh, has been practicing law from 2011 in the Jammu wing of the J&K HC. He said that he has "been harassed through their adopting a lackadaisical approach in implementing the RPWD act" and has been harassed. He will continue the protest until the law for disabled are implemented.

Madras HC Grants Conditional Bail To AIADMK Leader D Jayakumar
AIADMK leader and the Former Minister D Jayakumar, walked out of Puzhal jail to a warm reception from his supporters on March 12. The minister was arrested for allegedly grabbing land near Thoraipakkam. However, on March 11, Madras High Court granted conditional bail. "Mini emergency going on in the state of Tamil Nadu," Jayakumar mentioned while talking to reporters. Reportedly, D Jayakumar was arrested on February 28, 2022.

PUC, Degree Colleges To Reopen In Bengaluru, Udupi: Karnataka Hijab Row
The Karnataka government announced to reopen its pre-University and degree colleges in Udupi & Bangalore from February 16. The High schools have also been reopened, following protests and violence over the hijab row.
