Pakistani Admits Smuggling Drugs In Punjab Via Drones
In a first, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s close aide, Special Assistant on Defence Malik Mohd Ahmad Khan came up with an admission of drugs being smuggled from Pakistan to Punjab using drones. His remarks came during an interview to senior Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir in Kasur city, which borders the Indian Punjab. When asked about smuggling, the close aid said, "Yes, and it (smuggling) is very scary."

Pakistan Govt To Dissolve Parliament, Polls Soon

Pakistan Security Delegation To Visit Ahmedabad ICC Match Venue
Ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup, the Pakistani Cricket Board announced to send a security delegation ahead of the India V/S Pakistan match in Ahmedabad, on October 15. The visit announcement came hours after the announcement of ICC World Cup schedule. "The PCB requires the Government of Pakistan’s clearance for any tour to India, including the match venues," said PCB. The ICC World Cup starts on October 15.

Imran Khan Challenged Martial Law, Files Plea In SC

Twitter Handle Of Pakistan Govt Withheld In India
Responding to a legal demand, Twitter, micro-blogging site banned Pakistan Government's Twitter handle in India. With this, if anybody tries to see Twitter account of Pakistan Government in India, it would show, "@GovtofPakistan's account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand. This is not the first time the Twitter account has been withheld, and has happened six months earlier too, amid political issues and safety.

Pakistan Govt Increases Tax On Luxurious Item Import Amid Economic Crisis
In order to attract the IMF deal, the Pakistan Government announced a hike in taxes on import of luxurious items. The increased taxes on import of items like cars, home appliances, chocolates and cosmetics to 25%. The decision was taken after a go-ahead from the Pakistan Parliament, to attract the IMF loan of 6 billion, which has been in talks, which has created a struggle for economic survival for Pakistan.

Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan Likely To Be Arrested
Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan is likely to be arrested on February 20, in connection to a prohibited funding case. A Pakistani news channel confirmed a four-member team has been formed to arrest Khan. Furthermore, Khan will be arrested by Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) with the help of Lahore police. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

Pakistan Govt Likely To Increase Price Of Fuels Amid Financial Crisis
Amid the economic crisis, the Pakistan Government is likely to increase the prices of petrol and diesel. As per local media, petrol and diesel prices are likely to increase by Rs 32 per litre from February 16. Notably, Petroleum, oil and lubricant prices have increased and is Rs 272 for the next fortnight, forcing the Government of Pakistan to increase the prices, giving another major shock to its citizens.
