Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road Flyover Work Completes, Opens For Traffic: Mumbai

To ease travel for Mumbai people, the renovated Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) flyover has been fully opened from 6 am, on May 22. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) appointed contractor to complete the work of the flyover, which will affect traffic blocks, making rides easy for commuters. Notably, the repair works for a joint-bearing replacement started on May 13 and were completed before time by May 21.

Two People Rape 19 Year Old Woman At Knifepoint, Police Registers FIR

In Mumbai, two unidentified people allegedly raped a 19-year-old married woman at knifepoint, said police on May 12. The incident happened in Dharavi region around 4:30 pm, on May 10, while she was sleeping at her house. In her FIR, the victim said, two people came to her house, assaulted her, and recorded the incident. The police registered a case under several sections of the IPC and launched an investigation.

Metro Line 3 Work Completed 73%, To Be Functional Soon

In Maharashtra Mumbai, 73% of metro line 3 work is completed and the remaining work will be done soon, said Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC.) The metro work is in progress for the last five-six years and will be functional in the Colaba-Seepz route.  With this, of the total 42 metro-line, 40 are completed. Metropolitan Commissioner MMRDA, SVR Srinivas said the MMRC will start work for the other two metro-lines.

In a tragic incident, approximately 35passengers traveling in a bus had a narrow escape after the vehicle caught fire in Maharashtra's Nagpur. Police Constable Injured In Encounter Between Naxals-Police In Maharashtra

An encounter broke out between police and Naxals in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli region, resulting in serious injuries to a police constable.  On May 3, police said, the encounter started after a team of C-60 commandos, a specialized combat unit-Gadchiroli police were patrolling in the area. The Naxals opened fire on the police.  Furthermore, the injured constable was rushed to a hospital and the area has been cordoned off.
