Bijnor policeÔÇÖs Special Investigation Team (SIT) has given a clean chit to six policemen involved in the shooting and killing of a 20 year-old Mohammad Suleiman, during a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in December 2019. In the complaint registered by the Suleiman's brother, Shoaib, had named then SHO Rajesh Singh Solanki, sub-inspector Ashish Tomar, constable Mohit Kumar and three unidentified policemen.

A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an investigation by CBI or an SIT into the recent death of a pregnant wild elephant in Kerala. The incident appears to be "well calculated and organised killing," said the SC petition, adding that authorities have failed to prevent such killings. The plea also sought a record of similar incidents.
